This large loft space had been bought as shell, ready to be fitted out. The layout was a two bedroom with a large gallery, which only served as a hallway . After some thought, our designers were able to make better use of the gallery and turn it into a bedroom, whilst making taking space from the very large bedrooms to create a hall in its place.
Our first concrete kitchen uses a wooden carcass and layers of concrete plastered onto it. Given this was a top floor flat, we were keen to not bring too much material up the stairs or have too heavy an object on the wooden floor. The effect is the same as cast concrete, which works really well with the mirrored appliances, stainless steel units and the wooden floor.
Hours of Work
Some of IKEA’s latest designs are used and look more upmarket than expected. This is mixed in with some other Scandinavian furniture and some great soft furnishings from H&M. Villeroy & Boch and Vitra fittings appear in the bathrooms.
Light & Shadow
This is was out first time working with WiFi lights. The intensity and colour of the lights can be altered via a phone app, or using the remote controls in the apartment. The majority of the lights are spotlights, but there are also some hanging and wall lights so you can create the perfect mood.
